Cambodia and Laos have expanded cooperation to crack down on and to fight regional corruption within the framework of the collective ASEAN-PAC Anti-Corruption Unit.
On Monday, the Anti-Corruption Unit announced that the State Inspection Authority of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic is leading a six-member delegation on an official visit to the Anti-Corruption Unit of Cambodia from Tuesday to today.
During the visit, the Lao delegation is learning about the Cambodian policy and processes related to anti-corruption investigations, public education, crime prevention and budgetary planning.
The necessity to expand bilateral cooperation were discussed at a meeting on Wednesday between the head of Cambodia’s Anti-Corruption Unit, Om Yentieng, and the head of the State Inspection Authority of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic (SIA), Khamphanh Phommathath.
