Senior Minister Om Yentieng, Chairman of the Anti-Corruption Unit and Chairman of the ASEAN Anti-Corruption Institution (ASEAN-PAC), urged members of the ASEAN-PAC meeting to continue working together to fight corruption in their respective countries.
Senior Minister addressed the ASEAN-PAC Secretariat Meeting on August 16, stating that the world is facing challenges in rebuilding after the Covid-19 crisis. He emphasized the need for cooperation and mutual assistance from friendly countries, similar to the ASEAN-PAC family’s efforts in the ASEAN-PAC MoU. The spirit of sharing and cooperation is crucial for addressing corruption and promoting cooperation among countries.
Yentieng said that the 19th Secretariat Meeting of the ASEAN-PAC will discuss 18th ASEAN-PEC Leaders’ Meeting work and prepare agenda for the next meeting. The ASEAN-PAC will support activities and promote the achievement of the ASEAN-PEC Multi-Purpose in accordance with the set documents that set the procedures for the ASEAN-PAC work process.
He added that The ASEAN-PEC must develop through preparing key documents, including the ASEAN-PAC E-Booklet, which is submitted for review by the ASEAN-PAC Leaders’ Meeting.
According to the agenda of the meeting, Yentieng proposed that the 19th ASEAN-PAC Secretariat Meeting begin discussions in preparation for the next two tasks, the first is the procedure for the launch of the e-booklet of ASEAN-PAC and secondly, the procedure for Timor-Leste’s Anti-Corruption Institution to become an ASEAN-PAC member of the 11th party.
The Senior Minister also commended the organization of the ASEAN-PAC Summit in May under the cooperation between ACU Cambodia and KPK Indonesia together with UNODC, an important partner of ASEAN-PAC, running smoothly and successfully. Fresh News…More
